Behind the curtain view of Nashville is Talking, a local "blog devoted to the daily conversation that is news in the Greater Nashville community" and aggregator from WKRN, the local ABC affiliate here in Middle Tennessee.

One of the hardest working blogger in the weblog bidnez, long-time blogger Brittney Gilbert helps keep Nashville talking with vibrant and compelling chatter by inhaling "numerous sources throughout the work day, including blogs, daily publications, wire services and News2 reporters and photographers."

I met up with six leaders of men to discuss the logistics for the upcoming Promise Keepers Men's Conference here in Nashville when a double dare went out to partake of Corky's BBQ "Pink Cadillac" Feast.

This ultimate feast for four is packed with a Rack of Ribs, 1/2 Chicken, 1/2 lb of Beef Brisket plus side orders of BBQ Baked Beans, Fried Corn on the Cob, Spiced Apples, Southern Style Green Beans plus corn bread muffins & hot rolls. And gallons of sweet ice tea. No dessert.

The food was awesome, the conversation was great and the challenge *burp* was met. Rest assured, I had good company, as my brothers had racks of ribs, brisket and a baked potato bigger than a brick.



Tony, the manager and Frankie our waitress were very gracious on comping the meal as yours truly, the WonderDawg was the first to completely chow down the "Pink Cadillac" at the famous Corky's BBQ in Brentwood, Tennessee.

I have to rent "The Great Outdoors" and revisited how John Candy (Chet Ripley) did with the "Ol' 96er" - a 6-pound steak...

Next time, I'll just a have a small salad.

When the FedEx man came to the door, imagine my surprise to recieve this awesome gift of friendship from none other than The Dry Spot himself...

Chris was keen to my reputation of wearing the largest football helmet in high school because of my cranium size; ever since 1972, I have never had the opportunity to wear a cap that would not elicit a belly laugh and *snort* from Mrs. WonderDawg... until today.

Thank you my friend; because of your Dr. Phil sensitivity toward my skull size and measured intelligence, I'm now able to wear my KW cap with pride and hang with the good ole boys down at the local Cracker Barrel feed store and diner.

A Pink Elephant... for your mind and eyes only on Charlotte Pike in West Nashville.

Pink elephants are a myth....or are they? Studies show that pink elephants don't really exist except in our minds or even on television. To give someone a pink elephant is to express to them that they are something that you have never seen before, something that you have not expected. Its kind of like judging a book by its cover, you may never know it exists until you see it, or in this case, read it for yourself.

I found this postcard in my attic when Warner Bros. records used to do retail store mailings of upcoming artist appearances on television, especially on Saturday Night Live - Talking Heads, Paul Simon, Rickee Lee Jones, etc. I estimate this 6 x 8 1/2" postcard to be 26 years old. I cut out the WB logo on the screen and taped the photo from the back side.

As usual, the moral of the story is never, ever throw anything away! Could come in handy one day...

When I look at this drawer of hotel / motel soaps and shampoos, I think about places that I've been and where I want to go. Everytime the Southwest airlines DING! chimes in with a low price airfare, I do want to get away with my wife... San Francisco, Dallas, Seattle, Tampa, New York, Denver, Hawaii...

One day, I want to say that I've seen an NFL game in every football city and photographed a sunset in every state.

Brrrr! It's cold outside and with the leftover melted snow from the massive snow storm of one inch that we had here in Nashville, there is always the danger of black ice on the roads and overpasses.

Don't forget the sidewalks too - wearing tennis shoes will cause a little slipping where one could up up landing on the arse - and make someone cuss too!

Refer to the picture of Goofy, a anthropomorphic dog (not be confused with a WonderDawg) above to demonstrate what I'm talking about. Be careful out there...

It's Super Bowl Sunday with the Indianapolis Colts vs. da Bears. For 74 years running, Sam and Lynnette have hosted an Annual Super Bowl Game and Commercial Watching Party.



Complete with Blue Bell ice cream, homemade chilli and non-delivery pizza, lots of great conversation flowed and love shared for the Colts to win. I like being around the younger generation - there's a vibrancy and passion for life whether getting involved with social change, Room at the Inn, the Peace Corps or polite football smack talk.

By the way, see the guy in the middle of the photo eating ice cream and being bashful with his wife Lynnette to the right? What is this little thing I see leaving Target? It's a Smart...

The website sez: smart is a vehicle that challenges the status quo and appeals to your sense of adventure and to your desire for a unique driving experience. smart embodies innovation, functionality and the joy of driving.

I'm afraid to get in a Miata or Mini Cooper - maybe not so much the cars themselves, but I'm more afraid of getting smacked by the soccer mom in a hurry with the big SUV or the dude with the pick em up truck. These cars may be more fun if I was living on a retirement community, but for the price tag of $25K - I rather have a bobcat.

Snow! I do believe... my faith in the local weather (woman/man) has been restored. It's only an inch of dry powdered snow, but the dogs are enjoying romping around and the roads are passable.

Thanks God for the snow... and the lovely playground today.
