... J. Seward Johnson is also known for his life sized sculptures of ordinary people in contemporary life situations. These sculptures have been placed in public settings throughout the world, including Double Check, which depicts a businessman sitting on a bench going through his briefcase. Located on New York City’s Liberty Street near the World Trade Center, it has since become an impromptu memorial. Other sites where sculptures by J. Seward Johnson can be found are at Rockefeller Center in New York City, Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver, Canada, and in Washington, D.C. Johnson has also shown his work in exhibits in Asia, Mexico, and throughout Europe. www.groundsforsculpture.org

Day 79 0f 365

Ever see an object of affection and the noggin goes off with a recall of a song?

I saw this vehicle in Berry Hill and immediately thought of the Ry Cooder - Crazy ’bout An Automobile song written by William R. Emerson

They say, walking women home is a thing of the past
Women want to ride and ride around in class
Some like cadillacs, boys, some like fords
Some like anything as long as it rolls.

Every woman I know is crazy ’bout an automobile
And here I am standing with nothing but rubber heels

No sooner than I let my dogs outside I heard them raising cane. My next door neighbor was towing behind his truck a broken down riding lawn mower with his girlfriend at the wheel through our yard. Just like a scene out of The Beverly Hillbillies with Granny at the wheel.

Day 66 of 365 photos in 2007... photojournaling my way thru 2007!

Here's a dollar bill from change made at a Taco Bell with a web site address - www.wheresgeorge.com - stamped on the bill. So I create a account to track where George has been - maybe from coast to coast or some exotic bar in Key West, Florida to Tuscon to Tucumcari, Tehachapi to Tonapah...

So the web site asks: Do you ever wonder where that paper money in your pocket has been, or where it will go next?

NOT REALLY... After entering in the serial number, I'm told: This bill has travelled 5.6 Miles in 19 Days, 23 Hrs, 14 Mins at an average of 0.28 Miles per day.

Oh well, I've suddenly lost all interest and fascination finding out where George or his relatives have been. Wish they come home for a big reunion at my banking account.

I use to have a red and a hot rod yellow 1966 versions, both which became expensive lawn ornaments. They still turn my head when I see one around.
