Expressing Thyself in 2007

After reading this question / challenge posted by Brittney Gilbert at Nashville Is Talking, that Rex Hammock jumpstarted, my interest in tackling such a project of posting a photo a day made perfect sense:

(1) I've always been highly visual with my fondness of art and drawing since I fell out of the crib. I learn best via visual examples in academic settings whether in schematics, blueprints or word pictures.

(2) I could learn to take better photos by pushing the learning curve of my skill sets in photography and discover new techniques in lighting, settings and composition.

(3) Documenting and capturing memorable moments in a photo journal would be something I would prize for years to come. I still enjoy old photo albums of my family - thank God for digital technology!

I could go on and on, but Taylor McNight has a great tutorial - "Project 365: How to Take a Photo a Day and See Your Life in a Whole New Way" well worth reading.

From a technical standpoint, I'm still playing with the NEW Blogger and thus created a new photoblog residing here in addition to posting over at http://wonderdawg777.blogspot.com.

This quote sums it up for me:

A man should hear a little music,
read a little poetry,
and see a fine picture every day of his life,
in order that worldly cares may not
obliterate the sense of the beautiful which
God has implanted in the human soul.
